About Our Design ServicesFAQs and General Information About Our ServicesOur work is quick loading, browser/operating system friendly and is made to view correctly at 1024+ screen resolutions. HTML/XHTML/CSS validates to W3.org standards to ensure that projects looks correct in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape and Safari. All code produced for use on eBay is eBay compliant. Do you host my images? No. You will need to have a hosting account. This can be either your own domain name with FTP access, or an image hosting service that can accept both .gif and .jpg file formats. It is important that your hosting service does not rename or resize the images when uploading. See our Recommended Links page for image hosting services. Do you host Web Sites/Pages? No. We do, however, highly recommend GoDaddy at www.godaddy.com. They are the company we use for all our own Web sites and we recommend them to all our clients. They have excellent support, reliability and are very inexpensive. Will I be able to maintain my site? That depends on the amount of HTML experience you have. Our ASP PayPal Shopping Carts need no HTML experience and our eBay auction templates can be TagBotted so that minimal HTML experience is necessary. We do give instructions after your project is completed, and are more than happy to give additional support at hourly rates. What happens if I try to edit my files and mess up the code? Unless you own a good HTML editor such as Dreamweaver, we recommend always using Notepad to edit your files. Frontpage and Microsoft Word both will alter the code if working in the WYSIWY modes, and KD Web Page Design will NOT fix any files opened in either of those programs. See our Recommended Links for free HTML editor alternatives. How much support do you give on my eBay Store? Once your store is installed, we provide free support for 7 days which includes minor changes such as link changes, typos and image replacement. We will not make any design changes. You are free to make any changes yourself to your files depending on your HTML skills. Please note that we may charge a fee if you ask to fix some damages you made to the files after you tried to modify the HTML/store settings after we install your store, even if it is within the 7 days free support. KD Web Page Design can not be held responsible for eBay projects that no longer function because of changes made by eBay. Updates to eBay projects will be charged at hourly rates. How much support do you give on my Web Site/Page? We give free support for a 30 day period. It does not include replacing text from a page with new text, major page reconstruction, new pages, navigation changes or attempted updates by Client. The period of 30 days begins on the date the Client's Web design project is delivered/installed. If the Client's Web design projects includes database access using Active Server Pages (ASP), then very minor page code changes will be accepted under this maintenance plan, major page code and/or database structural changes will be charged at hourly rates. How much support do you give on Shopping Cart Sites? We give free support for a 30 day period. It does not include replacing text from a page with new text, major page reconstruction, new pages, navigation changes or attempted updates by Client. The period of 30 days begins on the date the Client's Web design project is delivered/installed. When installing any shopping cart software, we will not be responsible for setting up your payment gateways, shipping schedules or custom pages. It is the responsibility of the client to learn how to operate their shopping cart. If you have purchased our PayPal Shopping Cart site, we will teach you how to operate your cart and backup your database. Does my eBay Store need to be opened before you being work? It is not mandatory to have your store open while we are working on your design. But it must be opened before the final proof. If you have ordered a Custom Navigation, your store categories MUST be setup before we can finish the navigation. If you have ordered a custom template, "me" page or any other custom store item, your store will have to be opened to be able to add the correct links. What do I need to provide before you begin work on my project? Do I get to see the progress of my project? You Web pages and/or eBay files are built and uploaded to a space on our server. When we begin work we will email you the link to see the progress. You will be notified by email when changes have been made. What do you use to design my site? All Web design projects created by KD Web Page design are done using Macromedia Dreamweaver, 1stPage 2000 and NotePad. We do not use Frontpage or Microsoft Word due the poor coding the software tends to produce. We use Photoshop and Illustrator for graphics. Will my site look correct in all browsers? Designing a Web design project to fully work in multiple browsers (and browser versions) can require considerable effort and can involve creating multiple versions of code. KD Web Page Design represents and warrants that the code we deliver to you will work in the latest versions of Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox. While KD Web Page Design will make reasonable efforts to produce fully-functional code, KD Web Page Designs warranty does not cover AOL, text-based browsers or requested special effects that we have advised Client against. How will you deliver my project? Final Web design projects will be published to the Client's hosting service upon receipt of final payment or delivered via CD upon the receipt of full payment. The Client understands that KD Web Page Design does not provide any hosting services in connection with any Web design projects. Hosting services require a separate contract with the hosting service of the Client's choice. The Client agrees to select a hosting service which allows KD Web Page Design full access to the Client's account via FTP if necessary. The Client will be solely responsible for any and all hosting service charges. Do you or I own the finished files? Copyright to the finished Web design projects produced by KD Web Page Design will be owned by KD Web Page Design. The Client will be assigned rights to use the Web design projects once final payment under this agreement and any additional charges incurred have been paid. Rights to photos, graphics, source code, work-up files, and computer programs are specifically not transferred to the Client, and remain the property of their respective owners. All Web design projects will contain a copyright/legal statement with a link to KD Web Page Design. What if I furnish the images/copy? The Client unconditionally guarantees that any elements of text, graphics, photos, designs, trademarks, or other artwork furnished to KD Web Page Design for inclusion in any Web design project are owned by the Client, or that the Client has permission from the rightful owner to use each of these elements, and will hold harmless, protect, indemnify and defend KD Web Page Design from any liability (including attorney's fees and court costs), including any claim or suit, threatened or actual, arising from the use of such elements furnished by the Client. What payments do you accept? When do I pay? We accept Money Orders, Cashiers Checks, Personal Checks and Credit Cards via PayPal - US funds only. A deposit of 50% of the estimated total cost or a minimum of $500.00 is required before beginning any project. Final payment is due prior to upload, store install and/or delivery of completed work on CD. Legal Notice. The entire risk as to the quality and performance of the Web design project is with the Client. In no event will KD Web Page Design be liable to the Client or any third party for any damages, including, but not limited to, service interruptions caused by Acts of God, the Hosting Service or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising out of the operation of or inability to operate the project, failure of any service provider, of any telecommunications carrier, of the internet backbone, of any internet servers, your or your site visitor's computer or internet software, even if KD Web Page Design has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In addition KD Web Page Design will not be held liable for any eBay projects that no longer function because of changes made by eBay. |
